IMAP Mailboxes
IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) and POP3 (Post Office Protocol version 3) are two methods that email applications, such as Outlook, Apple Mail, Thunderbird, and mobile mail apps, use to access messages from a mail server.
With IMAP, your emails remain stored on the server and are synchronised across all of your devices. Actions such as reading, deleting, or moving messages are reflected everywhere, making IMAP the preferred choice for customers who access their email from multiple devices.
With POP3, emails are typically downloaded to a single device. While many email clients can be configured to leave a copy on the server, messages and folder changes are generally managed locally rather than synchronised across devices.
Because IMAP requires us to store and maintain your email data on our servers, a small additional charge applies to IMAP-enabled mailboxes. This can be paid either monthly or annually on a per-mailbox basis.
